World Doula Week: Favorite Postpartum Supplies
When it comes to postpartum, comfort cannot be overemphasized. Your body goes through the ringer when having a baby. Whether you had a vaginal birth or a cesarean, you deserve to be pampered.

For nipple comfort and a decrease in tissue irritation and damage, try silverettes. Simply place them in your bra over your nipples and allow the natural elements of silver to sooth and protect you between feeding sessions. (Make sure breasts are clean and dry.)
With the birth of my last two sons, I took some time before my due date to prepare padcicles. They were a life saver!
What you need:
Disposable or washable pads
Aloe vera gel
Witch hazel - alcohol free is great!
Essential oils (my favorites: lavender, frankincense, and helichrysum)
Coat the pad with aloe and witch hazel and add 3-5 dropps of each essential oil, place in individual plastic bags and freeze.
One hour before use, pull out of freezer and place in the fridge. Ahhh, such relief.
What are some of your favorite postpartum supplies?
